"Love Is Like" is a song by American pop rock band Maroon 5 featuring rapper Lil Wayne. It was released through 222 Records and Interscope Records on August 15, 2025, as the fourth single from the band's eighth studio album of the same name. The song contains a sample of "Silly Wasn't I" by Valerie Simpson.[1]
Background
On June 23, Maroon 5 officially announced their eighth studio album Love Is Like for release on August 15.[2] On July 10, 2025, frontman Adam Levine revealed that Lil Wayne and Sexyy Red would appear on the album.[3] The band posted to their Instagram page that the song featuring Wayne would be the album's title track.
The song's initial title was "Drugs", but this was changed due to Levine and the band thinking it was "too harsh". Levine was initially unsure if he wanted to finish the track, thinking it may have been "too silly", but was swayed by his friends. After having trouble completing the track, he realized that the song really needed a feature. From there it was sent to Lil Wayne and his team, and the song was finished soon after.[1]

Lil Wayne is seated across from Adam and performs his verse inside of car.[4] The music video was directed by Aerin Moreno.[5]
