List of school attacks in Mexico

The following is a list of school attacks in Mexico, including stabbings and shootings that took place in daycare centers, schools, universities and other educational centers. Excluded from this list are the following:

  1. Incidents that occurred as a result of police actions
  2. Suicides or suicide attempts involving only one person.

He was sentenced to 146 years' imprisonment.[1]
18 January 2017 Colegio Americano del Noreste in Monterrey, Nuevo León Federico Fernando Guevara Elizondo 2 (including the perpetrator) 3 Colegio Americano del Noreste shooting: A 16-year-old student opened fire in his classroom with a handgun, killing a teacher and injuring three students, before committing suicide.
2 March 2017 Escuela Preparatoria 2 "Nezahualcóyotl" de la Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México in Toluca, State of Mexico Unnamed 0 5 A 16-year-old student set off a Molotov cocktail before wounding five students and fleeing the area with an axe. He also carried an unused knife.[2] He was later arrested.[3]
10 January 2020 Colegio Cervantes Campus Bosque in Torreón, Coahuila José Ángel Ramos Betts 2 (including the perpetrator) 6 Colegio Cervantes shooting: An 11-year-old student opened fire at the school playground with two pistols, injuring six students, before killing a teacher and subsequently committing suicide.
9 May 2023 Colegio de Bachilleres de Tabasco in Villahermosa, Tabasco Unnamed 0 1 A student attacked a teacher with a hammer after he flunked him on a history test.[4]
31 May 2023 Escuela Secundaria No. 80 in La Paz, State of Mexico Unnamed 0 1 A student opened fire at random in his school, injuring a janitor, before being arrested.[5]
15 November 2023 Escuela Primaria Miguel Hidalgo in El Marqués, Querétaro Unnamed 1 0 A 12-year-old student shot a classmate to death after an argument.[6]
6 March 2024 Universidad Tecnológica de Guadalajara in Guadalajara, Jalisco Gabriel Alejandro Galaviz 3 1 Technological University of Guadalajara attack: A 20-year-old man murdered two people and injured another using a hatchet and three knives before being arrested. He had previously murdered a woman at a nearby motel.
30 November 2024 Preparatoria San Andrés in Guadalajara, Jalisco Brandon Alonso 0 2 San Andrés Preparatory School attack: A 17-year-old student attacked two classmates with a hammer in an attempted massacre before being subdued.
4 March 2025 Escuela Secundaria Elisa Acuña Rosetti in Tizayuca, Hidalgo Unnamed 0 1 A father of a student, armed with a knife, stabbed a student for defending another student from bullying.[7]
