Leonard and Hungry Paul is an upcoming British and Irish comedy television series for RTÉ and BBC Three. It is an adaptation of the book of the same name by Rónán Hession.

Premise

Leonard and Hungry Paul are two friends who bond over board games in suburbia.[1]

Cast

Production

The six-part series is adapted by Richie Conroy and Mark Hodkinson from the Rónán Hession book of the same name (2019). It has Andrew Chaplin as directer and is produced by Subotica for BBC Northern Ireland in association with BBC Comedy, Screen Ireland and RTÉ. Avalon is co-producing and distributing internationally.[2]

The cast is led by Alex Lawther as Leonard with Laurie Kynaston as Hungry Paul and Jamie-Lee O'Donnell as Shelley. The cast also includes Helen Behan and Lorcan Cranitch.[3]

Filming took place in Dublin in May 2025.[4] First look images from filming were released in August 2025.[5]
