Krishna Bharadwaj is an Indian television actor. He has played roles in shows like Jasuben Jayantilaal Joshi Ki Joint Family, Sukh By Chance, R. K. Laxman Ki Duniya, Piya Basanti Re, Dhruv Tara – Samay Sadi Se Pare [1]and Tenali Rama among others.[2][3][4] He also acted in a few short films, such as "I Guess" (2013)[5] and Doctor Ki Bhadaas Unlimited (2016)[6].

Krishna Bharadwaj was currently playing the titular role of Tenali Ramakrishna in Tenali Rama for SAB TV. The series was based on a 16th-century court poet in the Vijayanagara Empire of medieval India, who is remembered for his extraordinary wit. He shaved his head for this role[7]. Before this, he had acted as Yuvraj Mahaveer in Dhruv Tara - Samay Sadi Se Pare[8]. He has also enacted the lead role as Dev Sanghvi in a Gujarati movie, Chal Man Jeetva Jaiye[9] and Chal Man Jeetva Jaiye 2[10][11].

Early Life & Education

Krishna Bharadwaj was born on 18 July 1983 in Ranchi, Bihar (present - day Jharkhand), India, into a Pujari Brahmin family. Raised in a spiritually enriched household, he was deeply influenced by devotional practices and cultural traditions from an early age.

At the age of four, Bharadwaj received his first pay cheque for an audition at Akashvani Ranchi,[12] the regional station of All India Radio, marking his early exposure to the performing arts. His father, Dr. Aniket Bharadwaj[13], held a PhD in Hindi and was an actor and writer affiliated with Akashvani Ranchi. Although Dr. Bharadwaj did not pursue a career in Mumbai's entertainment industry, Krishna considers his own journey a continuation of his father's artistic legacy,

He completed his schooling at DAV Nandraj Public School, Ranchi, and graduated from St. Xavier's College, Ranchi. During his formative years, he trained in dance, which became one of his core artistic strengths. In interviews, Bharadwaj has expressed that acting is not merely a profession but a lifelong passion, stating that he could not imagine pursuing any other career[14]. He has also shared his desire to incorporate dance into future projects or films, reflecting his continued enthusiasm for the art form.

Personal Life

After moving to Mumbai, Bharadwaj began his professional career in television with the show Ada (2004) on Sahara One, which marked his debut in the entertainment industry.

He is known for leading a spiritually focused lifestyle. He practices meditation, enjoys reading, dancing and remains deeply connected to Indian cultural and devotional traditions. His zodiac sign is Cancer.

In addition to acting, he is a writer, having contributed as a co-writer in Chal Man Jeetva Jaiye[15][16]. His creative work spans across genres, including folk songs, short films and regional cinema.

Bharadwaj continues to credit his family's artistic roots and spiritual values as guiding forces in both his personal and professional life.
