Kennington is a suburb of Bendigo, a city in Victoria, Australia. The suburb is located 3 kilometres (2 mi) south-east of the Bendigo city centre and at the 2016 census had a population of 5,649.[1] The suburb is home to the Kennington Reservoir.[2]
History
Kennington is known for the Convent of the Good Shepherd, an orphanage that opened in 1905 and is situated within St Aidan's Park, both of which are next door to Kennington Primary School, which was founded in 1901 on Marnie Street, the school relocated to Crook Street in 1995. The Post Office opened on 1 May 1913 and closed in 1972.[3]
