  • Karnavati is the original name of Ahmedabad, which is located in the state of Gujarat, India. While Ahmedabad is the current name, it was previously known as Karnavati, named after the Solanki king Karan. Ahmedabad, now the largest city in Gujarat, was founded by Sultan Ahmed Shah, who renamed it from Karnavati.
