Gamal Mohamed Hassan (born June 1978) is a Somali-Canadian politician and former diplomat. He was the former Minister of Planning and International Cooperation of the Federal Government of Somalia and Ambassador.[1][2]

Biography

Hassan is from the Sool, Sanaag, Cayn, and Haylaan regions.[1]

Prior to becoming the Minister, Gamal has served as the Somali Ambassador to Kenya and concurrently served as the Permanent Representative to UNEP and UN Habitat in Nairobi.

Currently, Gamal is working as the director of the IGAD Centre of Excellence for Climate Adaptation and Environmental Protection (IGAD CAEP).
