Ivan Ivanov (Bulgarian: Иван Иванов, born 30 October 2008) is a Bulgarian tennis player. He has a career-high ATP singles ranking of No. 795, achieved on 16 June 2025 and a doubles ranking of No. 2012, achieved on 31 March 2025.[1] Ivanov won the boys' singles title at the 2025 Wimbledon Championships, becoming the second Bulgarian in history after Grigor Dimitrov to lift the trophy.[2] Ivanov reached an ITF junior combined ranking of No. 1 on 14 July 2025.[3]

He has won four singles and four doubles titles on the ITF junior circuit.[4]

Junior career

In July 2022, Ivan Ivanov competed in the inaugural 14 and under boys singles event at Wimbledon, where he lost in the semifinals to the eventual champion Se Hyuk Cho from South Korea.

The Bulgarian made his Junior Grand Slam debut at the 2024 Australian Open, where he lost in the first round in singles and the second round in doubles. In June 2025, Ivanov fell short of reaching his first Grand Slam final, losing to Max Schönhaus in the singles semifinals at the 2025 French Open, where he also reached the quarterfinals in doubles with Thijs Boogaard.

At the 2025 Wimbledon Championships Ivanov did not lose a set on his way to his first junior Grand Slam title, defeating the qualifier Ronit Karki in straight sets in the final. With this triumph Ivanov became only the second Bulgarian tennis player to win a Junior Grand Slam boy's singles title following in the footsteps of Grigor Dimitrov who won Wimbledon and the US Open in 2008.[5][6] As a result, Ivanov reached an ITF junior combined ranking of No. 1 on 14 July 2025.[7]

Professional career

Ivan Ivanov made his professional debut in 2023 at the M15 tournament in Manacor. Later on in the year he received a qualifying wildcard for the 2023 Rafa Nadal Open, where he lost in the first round to August Holmgren.[8]

In August 2024, playing only the fifth professional event in his career, the Bulgarian reached his first ITF final at the M15 tournament in Sofia, but lost to Franco Ribero. In May 2025 Ivanov defeated Gergely Madarász in the final of the M15 tournament in Szentendre, Hungary, thus becoming the first player born in 2008 to win an ITF title. [9]
