Plot summary
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom is an adventure in which the locales and characters from the film are detailed. The book opens with detailed chapters on four primary locations: the bustling intrigue of Shanghai, the mystical backdrop of Mayapore Village (complete with a segment on Indian deities), the politically tense Pankot Province, and the ominous Temple of Doom. It then expands beyond the film to explore other legendary regions of India that could serve as fertile ground for new adventures. The final chapters present two ready-to-play adventures—The Search for Nurhachi and Day of the Dark Light—designed for minimal preparation.[1]
Reception
Andy Butcher reviewed Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom for Arcane magazine, rating it a 7 out of 10 overall, and stated that "The Indiana Jones MasterBook supplement may not have been particularly inspiring, but this is a good, solid sourcebook for it, featuring a lot of handy information and a couple of decent adventures. Good stuff."[1]
