Icon is the upcoming third studio album by American R&B singer Brent Faiyaz, scheduled to be released through ISO Supremacy and UnitedMasters on September 19, 2025.[1] Its production was handled by AR, Chidozie Michael Arah, Elliot Davy, Emman, Emmanuel Arah, Hardheaded, Jordan Ware, L3gion, Nascent, and is expected to feature several other producers. The album serves as a follow-up to Faiyaz's debut mixtape, Larger than Life (2023) and his second studio album, Wasteland (2022).
Release and promotion
Following an over one-year-long hiatus since Faiyaz's previous mixtape, Larger than Life (2023), he appeared as a feature on American rapper Loe Shimmy's November 2024 remix of "For Me".[2] In May 2025, controversy erupted between Halle Bailey and DDG, alleging Faiyaz had an affair with Bailey.[3]
On July 3, Faiyaz wiped his Instagram page, suggesting he's preparing for an album before posting a picture of what was interpreted as a promotional cover for the album.[1] The cover featured the name "Icon" alongside its release date caption, September 19.[4] Immediately after the announcement, fans compared its release date to rapper Cardi B's upcoming album, Am I the Drama?, set to drop on the same date.[1]
Singles
On July 4, 2025, Faiyaz dropped the album's two lead singles, "Tony Soprano" and "Peter Pan", immediately after the album's announcement, both named after the fictional characters, Tony Soprano and Peter Pan.[5][6] In an interview with Rolling Stone, Faiyaz stated that with the two-pack, he's "embracing duality" as the former is about "tapping into that leader mentality" while the latter is "outside of all that, free from limits" and is "full of wonder".[5]
