Provisions
The code includes prohibitions on discrimination based on age, gender, gender expression, religion, sexual orientation and disability.[1][2]
The code prohibits discrimination in employment, services and housing.[3]
The code was amended in November 2021 to improve the ability of the commission to respond to complaints with timely reviews.[4]
Application
In 2020, the Government of Manitoba was found to be in breach of the code for not providing healthcare for an Anishinaabe teenager.[5]
