Huỳnh Thị Thanh Thủy (born 1 July 2002) is a Vietnamese beauty pageant titleholder and model.[1] She is known for was crowned Miss Vietnam 2022 and then became famous when she was crowned Miss International 2024.[2][3]

She is the first Vietnamese people to be crowned Miss International, and the second time that Vietnam won one of the Big Four beauty pageants, six years after Nguyễn Phương Khánh won as Miss Earth 2018.[4]

Early life

Thanh Thủy was born on July 1, 2002 in Danang. In a normal family of four, her father is a civil servant in the electricity industry, her mother is a housewife and her younger sister.[5]

In the 2016 Danang Excellent Student Selection Examination, she won second prize in the Vietnamese literature contest. In 2019, she won a silver medal in the youth fashion competition at the 2019 Danang City Spring Flower Festival.[6]

She is currently studying English language at the University of Foreign Language Studies, a member of the University of Da Nang system. At the same time, she also studying at University of Greenwich.[7]

Miss Vietnam 2022

Thanh Thủy was crowned Miss University of Foreign Languages 2021, so she represented her university at the Miss Elegant Student Danang City 2021 and won the 1st runner-up position. She then represented the city at Miss Vietnam 2022. She was crowned Miss Vietnam on December 23, 2022 at the Phú Thọ Indoor Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City. During the pageant, she entered won the Sport award and top 5 Beauty with a Purpose, top 5 Multimedia challenge.[8]

Miss International 2024

There was significant controversy surrounding Thanh Thủy prestigious position as Miss Vietnam, a title that has never sent any winner to pageants other than Miss World, which is one of the Big Four beauty pageants. Final-ly, she succeed Andrea Rubio on November 12, 2024 in Tokyo, Japan was crown Miss International.[9][10]
