Around this period, in 2011 she was elected as vice president of the UNICEF executive board, representing the Asia group.[3]
Grata returned to the foreign ministry after her tenure in the permanent mission and was appointed as deputy director (chief of subdirectorate) for rights of vulnerable group in the foreign ministry's directorate[3] for human rights and humanitarian affairs, where she was responsible for matters relating to women, children, and other disenfranchised groups. In her capacity, her subdirectorate regularly collaborates with international organizations such as the UN, OIC, ASEAN and led the contribution of the foreign ministry in major initiatives on human rights and humanitarian affairs, including efforts to end sexual violence in conflict.[6]
On 10 August 2017, Grata became the director for international security and disarmament in the foreign ministry.[7] During her tenure, she oversees Indonesia's non-permanent membership at the United Nations Security Council.[8][9][10] On 9 September 2020, Grata became the deputy permanent representative at the permanent mission to the United Nations in Geneva with the rank of ambassador.[5] Following the election of permanent representative Hasan Kleib as deputy director general of the World Intellectual Property Organization in December that year,[11] Grata assumed duties as the mission's chargé d'affaires[5] until December 2021.[12]
In December 2022, Grata was nominated as ambassador to Laos by President Joko Widodo.[13] After passing an assessment by the house of representative's first commission the next month,[14] on 26 June 2023 she officially assumed office.[15] She presented her credentials to President Thongloun Sisoulith on 28 September.[16]
