Global Studies Quarterly (GSQ) is a fully open-access, peer-reviewed academic journal that publishes research across the broad field of international studies, including global politics, economics, society and culture. It launched in 2021 as the newest title in the International Studies Association’s (ISA) portfolio and is published by Oxford University Press.[1][2] The editors-in-chief are Brent J. Steele and Jelena Subotić.[3]
Scope
The journal publishes theoretical and methodological work that advances knowledge of global affairs. Typical topics include:[1]
- International and trans-national political processes
- Global political economy and economic governance
- Norms, identity and culture in world politics
- Comparative and area-based perspectives on global issues
History
ISA announced GSQ in July 2020 and began publishing with Volume 1, Issue 1 in March 2021.[2] From its inception the journal has been fully open access, with article-processing-charge waivers for authors from the Global South.[4]
