Ferhat Can Kavurat (born 20 April 1999) is a Turkish taekwondo athlete competing in the men's featherweight and lightweight divisions. He is a member of Ankara İlbank.

Career

Ferhat Can Kavurat first achieved international success at the 2016 World Junior Taekwondo Championships in Burnaby, Canada, where he won a bronze medal in the men's 63 kg category.[1]

He continued his career at the under-21 level, becoming European champion in the 63 kg division at the 2018 European U21 Taekwondo Championships in Warsaw, Poland. He defended his title the following year, winning another gold medal at the 2019 European U21 Championships in Helsingborg, Sweden.[2][3]

At senior level, Kavurat won the bronze medal in the men's 68 kg event at the 2021 Islamic Solidarity Games held in Konya, Turkey, in August 2022.[4]

In August 2023, he secured another bronze medal in the men's 68 kg category at the 2021 Summer World University Games in Chengdu, China. According to the Turkish Taekwondo Federation and TRT Haber, Kavurat placed third in the competition, which was part of the 31st edition of the World University Games.[5][6]

Personal life

In July 2023, Ferhat Can Kavurat married fellow national team taekwondo athlete Merve Dinçel.[7]
