Ethiopian Civil Society Organizations Council

Ethiopian Civil Society Organizations Council (ECSOC) is an autonomous supreme authority that serves as the legal representative of the civil society sector, which includes networks, forums, associations, consortia, and organizations. On December 31, 2020, the 300 members of the General Assembly, who were representatives of CSOs and the Council's founders, formed ECSOC.[1]

According to Article 85 of Proclamation No. 1113/2019, the Ethiopian Civil Society Organizations Council was founded as an independent organization with the responsibility of representing and coordinating Ethiopia's civil society sector.
