Abuchi Elijae Emedem (born April 7, 1997) popularly known as Eli Jae, is a Nigerian-born singer and songwriter,[1] popularly known for his single 'Sexual Healing' which debuted at number 88 on official Nigeria TurnTable Top 100 songs chart.[2] He also ranked number 7 on the NXT Emerging Top Artistes and spent 8 consecutive weeks.[3]

Early life

Abuchi Elijae Emedem was born and raised in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. He developed an interest in music at an early age, influenced by a wide range of genres including Afrobeats, pop, gospel, and R&B.[4] Growing up in a musically inclined environment, he was exposed to both Nigerian and international artists, which played a role in shaping his taste and approach to music.[5] His upbringing in Port Harcourt also exposed him to a blend of cultural influences

Career

In 2023, Eli Jae was signed into Adasa Cookey’s owned record label, Squareball entertainment.[6] On 25 July 2023, he released his debut three-track Extended play titled Blend.[7] which received favourable reviews.[8] Adeayo of Pulse Nigeria stated in his review that 'he displays impressive penmanship with an effortless ability to mold melody in the sensual, calm, and stimulating way that drives R&B'.[9] On 14 April 2024, he released a single titled "All Over" which gained significant radio airplay.[10] On 24 July 2024 he released a single titled "Me & You"[11][12] On 19 September 2024, he collaborated with fellow Nigerian artist Ric Hassani on a track[13] titled "Vida Miya" which received notable attention and radio airplay.[14] On 12 April 2025, He released a single titled "Sexual Healing"[15] off his debut studio album which debuted on official Nigeria TurnTable Top 100 songs at number 88[2] and was ranked on NXT Emerging Top Artistes at number 7 and spent 8 weeks.[3] On 27 June 2025 he released his debut album titled Soundtrack To Great Sex[16]
