Jonah Elias Rindner (born December 13, 1997), known professionally as Dolo Tonight, is an American singer, rapper, and multi-instrumentalist.[1] His musical style primarily incorporates indie rock, pop, and hip-hop elements.[1]
Early life
Rindner was born in Watchung, New Jersey on December 13, 1997,[2] and graduated from Watchung Hills Regional High School in 2014.[3] He dropped out of the University of Maine's food science program, abandoning a potential career as a flavorist to pursue music, encouraged by both his parents and college professors.[4] He began releasing music professionally in early 2019 after meeting producer Michael Ashby online.[2] His first single, Too High, reached number five on Spotify's “Top 100 Breaking Artists" list in 2019.[2][5]
Career
Rindner signed with Asylum Records following the release of his single Zoom.[6] In 2021, he released the EP Back to Earth. The single Higher from this EP featured a music video recorded at the highest altitude in the Western Hemisphere, filmed in a hot air balloon.[7][8]
In 2022, Rindner signed with Epitaph Records.[9] He released the EP Life's a Party Then You're Dead, which he has described as “awkward anti-pop,” denoting a departure from conventional pop-song structures.[10][11] The six-track record addresses themes of isolation and relationship difficulties.[10]
In 2023 Rindner released several singles, including Fake My Death, Wakey Wakey, and Parking Lot Love Story.[12] He released Stranger Things in 2024 and Live Your Life and Hate You Now in 2025. Live Your Life became his first entry on the UK’s Official Charts Company component rankings, peaking at number 73 on the Official Singles Sales Chart.[13]
DVD Rental Store is his forthcoming studio album, scheduled for release on October 3, 2025, through Epitaph Records.[14]
Musical style and artistry
Rindner describes his music as "awkward anti-pop", drawing from alternative rock, indie, and pop genres while subverting typical pop conventions. He has identified influences such as Two Door Cinema Club, MGMT, Passion Pit, and Cage the Elephant as formative to his artistic direction.[15]
