District Institute of Education and Training, Siwan or DIET Siwan[4] formerly known as Women’s Primary Teacher Education College, is a government educational institution under the nodal agency NCTE & Education Department, Government of Bihar, which provides academic and research support to elementary education in the Siwan district. DIET serves as pre service and in service training institute for teachers in the district. Established in 1958, DIET aims to improve the Basic Education System and competence of teachers through regular training programs, projects, seminars, workshops and other academic programmes.

Affiliation

DIETs are district-level bodies that support Universalisation of Elementary Education (UEE). It approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and affiliated with the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB).[3]

Courses

DIET Siwan offers a D.Ed (Diploma of Education) course in the stream of Teaching & Education.[5]
