Dhurandhar (transl. Stalwart) is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language spy action thriller film written, directed, and co-produced by Aditya Dhar. The film is produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Aditya Dhar, and Lokesh Dhar under the banners Jio Studios and B62 Studios. It stars an ensemble cast of Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, and Akshaye Khanna, alongside Sara Arjun and Rakesh Bedi in supporting roles.[1][2] Set against the backdrop of a high-stakes intelligence operation, the narrative follows a covert agent navigating complex political conspiracies, national security threats, and personal dilemmas.[3]
Dhurandhar is scheduled to release on 5 December 2025.[4]
Plot
Set in the world of Indian intelligence, Dhurandhar follows a covert officer on a high-stakes mission rooted in historical events. The film blends high-octane action sequences, Shakespearean betrayals, and intricate espionage tradecraft, centered on the lives of the unknown men and infused with themes of unwavering patriotism.

Production
Development
The film was officially announced in July 2024 by Ranveer Singh on social media platforms.[5] Later, in December 2024 the official title was revealed as Dhurandhar.[6] The film is reportedly inspired by real-life incidents, global conflicts, and covert operations of RAW.[7]
Casting
In July 2024, Ranveer Singh was cast as the lead alongside Sanjay Dutt as his role is inspired by real-life SSP of Karachi Choudhary Aslam Khan and R. Madhavan.[8] Later, Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, and Rakesh Bedi were also cast in supporting roles.[9] In October 2024, Sara Arjun was cast opposite Singh.[10] Singh plays the role of a RAW agent, while R. Madhavan reportedly plays the role of National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.[11][12]
Filming
The first schedule commenced in July 2024 in key locations across Bangkok.[13] The second schedule commenced in November 2024 near Amritsar and Golden Temple.[14] In February 2025, filming took place in Filmistan, Mumbai.[15] Later, filming took place across Madh Island and the schedule was wrapped by late April 2025.[16] In May 2025, some action sequences were filmed at Mankoli bridge.[17] In July 2025, an energetic dance number was filmed at the Golden Tobacco Factory in Vile Parle.[18] Several scenes set in Pakistan were re-created in Thailand.[19]
Music
The film's music is composed by Shashwat Sachdev, with lyrics written by Kumaar.[20]
The song "Na De Dil Pardesi Nu" contains a sample of the famous 1995 Punjabi song by Muhammad Sadiq and Ranjit Kaur, composed by Charanjit Ahuja and written by Babu Singh Mann.[21] In 2003, it was remixed by Panjabi MC as "Jogi".[22]

Marketing
The first-look poster was released on 6 July 2025, coinciding with Ranveer Singh’s 40th birthday. A teaser was unveiled the same day,[4] featuring vocals by Jasmine Sandlas. The soundtrack includes a rap segment by Hanumankind, a contemporary artist known for his genre-blending musical style.[23]
Release
Dhurandhar is scheduled for a theatrical release on 5 December 2025.[4][24]
