Christian McGaffney (born April 8, 1989)[1] is a Venezuelan actor,[2] recognized by his performances in both theater and television. Christian is best known for his breakout role in the internationally acclaimed film Simón (Netflix), where his gripping performance brought global attention to Venezuela’s political and emotional reality.[3]
Career
Christian also stars as Joey in The Duel, a sharp-witted and charismatic character that allowed him to showcase his comedic range and timing. Most recently, Christian takes center stage as Juan Planchard in Las Aventuras de Juan Planchard, a daring theatrical adaptation by Moisés Kaufman and the Tectonic Theater Project, portraying one of the most controversial figures in modern Venezuelan literature.
Christian began his career as a teenager in Venezuelan telenovelas, quickly becoming a familiar face on national television. His early stage work includes the acclaimed play Gross Indecency: The Three Trials of Oscar Wilde and HIGH, where he brought depth and intensity to the role of Andy — a performance that marked him as a versatile actor capable of handling complex characters from a young age.[4]
Personal life
In January 2020, McGaffney married Venezuelan actress and singer María Gabriela de Faría.
