Choi Kyo-jin (Korean최교진; born 24 November 1953)[1] is a South Korean politician and educator who is President Lee Jae Myung's current nominee for minister of education and deputy prime minister of South Korea.[2][3] He has served as the superintendent of education of Sejong Special Self-Governing City since 2022.[4]

Choi was born in Boryeong, South Chungcheong Province. He graduated from Kongju National University and subsequently embarked on a teaching career. In the 1990s, Choi was the head and senior vice-chairman of the Korean Teachers and Education Workers Union's Chungcheongnam-do branch. He was elected Sejong City Superintendent of Education in 2014 and was reelected twice.[5]
