Basketball at the 2022 Asian Games was held in Hangzhou, China from 25 September to 6 October 2023. There were two contested events: 5x5 and 3x3 basketball.^[1]^[2]

Qualification was to be held for both men's and women's tournament but was scrapped by June 2023.^[3] 23 men's teams and 16 women's teams had registered to take part in the Games but the organizers decided to pick the best 16 men's teams and 12 women's teams directly from the FIBA World Ranking.
