The blinkins

The Blinkins is a series of characters created in 1985 by the toy company LJN. The story follows the adventures of a group of adorable anthropomorphic fireflies living in the forest. The story is about a group of 5 firefly girls who share a home, their wonderful tree house. Meet the sweet and loyal Sparkle, the cheeky and grumpy Shady, the self-centered and glamorous Flashy, the shy and little Flicker and the brave Blink, the leader and protagonist... she is the glue that makes this group of girls together... they take care of the adorable baby Twinkle, and they will also be involved in great, magical and dramatic adventures... always with the help of Mr. Ben, the wise guardian owl..[1]

The TV Series

The Blinkins was not just limited to toys; it also made its way to television with special anime episodes and captivating storytelling. These episodes tell stories about how the Blinkins face various threats to their home in the forest and help other characters in need.

The Blinkins Toys

In addition to the TV series, The Blinkins were a line of toys. These toys were released in 1985 by LJN and consisted of small firefly dolls with large eyes, shiny wings and bottoms that light up and glowed in rainbow colors when their bodies were squeezed. Each doll came with an accessory or an insect "friend" and a butterfly-shaped comb.
