Asa people (Nigeria)

Asa people as distinct social and ethnic group in Igboland are found majorly in Ukwa West local government area of Abia State, Nigeria.

It is believed that they are the dominant group in terms of population in the local government area.[1]

It is one of the few oil and gas producing local government areas in Abia State.[2]
