Amirul Islam Kamal (Bengali: আমিরুল ইসলাম কামাল) is a Awami League politician in Bangladesh and a former member of parliament for Noakhali-14.

Early Life and Education

Kamal was born on 21 March 1921 in Hatiya Upazila, Noakhali District, Chittagong Division, Bengal Presidency, British India(now Bangladesh). He completed his matriculation from Hatiya Union Model Pilot High School in 1948. He passed his Intermediate of science (I.Sc) examination from Comilla Victoria Government College in 1950. In 1952 he obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from University of Dhaka.

Career

After completing graduation Kamal started business in was Hatiya Upazila. He also got involved in local politics. He served as the member and Chairman of Chandnandi Union Council. In 1964 he was elected to provincial Assembly of East Pakistan on the ticket of Muslim League. Later he joined the Awami League and was elected to parliament from Noakhali-14 as an Awami League candidate in 1973.[1] He was re-elected in 1979.[2]
