Plot

The most ordinary people live in a small Ural village, except for the local hard of hearing "fool" Aleksei. The whole village laughs at him, considering him feeble-minded. He really does behave strangely: he lives in a house knocked together from garbage, draws circles in the fields and believes in the existence of other worlds. But suddenly an event occurs that radically changes the life of Aleksei himself and other people around him.

  • Alyona Miroshnikova as Yana, an alien

Reception

Critical response

Nastasya Gorbachevskaya (Film.ru) rated the film 8 points and noted: "Sincere naivety disarms some, quickly irritates others. Probably, both are right, but in the case of "Alien" I want to talk (at least the author of this review) not about constructs, but about sensations: about how the horse's furry muzzle feels to the touch, how your palm hurts if you cut yourself with a sharp stone, how a frightened girl holds on to a strong hand and how a frightened man holds the weak in his arms".[2] At the same time, Kommersant critic Yulia Shagelman considered that "hand-made fantasy, assembled from scrap materials like the main character's house, is full, as usual with Sosnin, of good intentions and correct humanistic ideas. But the director was not entirely successful in realizing them this time”.[3].
