Alexis Saint-Pete is the stage name of Piotr Lorek, a Polish-British drag performer who competed on series 5 of RuPaul's Drag Race UK.[3]

Early life

Lorek began working in theatre at age 4 and relocated to the United Kingdom in 2007, at the age of 12, to attend the Northern Ballet School in Manchester.[4][5][2] Her father was a boxer, and her first experiences with crossdressing involved wearing towels and stealing her mother's clothing.[6]

Career

Saint-Pete discovered drag at the age of 18 after attending a gay club in Manchester with her mother. Her original stage name was "Queen Panthera". Her current stage name is composed of "Alexis", a character she once portrayed, "Saint", which she erroneously believed meant "sinner", and "Pete", from her birth name of Peter.[5] As a makeup artist, one of her notable clients has been singer Doda.[7]

Alexis Saint-Pete competed on series 5 of RuPaul's Drag Race UK. She was the first Polish contestant on any Drag Race franchise.[4] She was the first contestant eliminated, after placing in the bottom two of the design challenge and losing a lip-sync against Naomi Carter to Tiesto and Charli XCX's "Hot in It" (2022).[8][9][10] Alexis Saint-Pete's drag persona is inspired by early 2000s female pop artists.[11] She has described herself as the "Polish Billy Elliot"[12] and a "clown in a supermodel body".[13]
