Alexander David Scott is a British mathematician. He is currently Professor of Mathematics at the University of Oxford and Fellow and Dominic Welsh Tutor in Mathematics at Merton College, Oxford.[1]

Career

From 1993-1997, he was a Junior Research Fellow at Trinity College, Cambridge, earning his PhD in 1995. He was Lecturer and subsequently Reader in Mathematics at University College, London, before moving to Merton College, Oxford in 2005.[1]

Personal life

Scott was educated at Eton College.[2] As a sixteen year old schoolboy, Scott wrote the role-playing game Maelstrom for Puffin Books.[3]
