Aj Bogd (Mongolian: Аж богд, lit. "way of life the saint") is a mountain of the Gobi-Altai Mountains and located in the Altai District, Govi-Altai Province, Mongolia. Its highest peak, Ih Ovoo has an elevation of 3,802 metres (12,480 ft).
The Aj Bogd mountain range is located in the westeren part of Mongolia in the Govi-Altai aimag, and is a spur of the Mongol Altai. It stretcghes from northesast to southwest and it approximately 446 km long; the total area of the range is about 9,318 km. Geologically, the composition and relief of Aj Bogd are similar to those of the main ridge of the Mongol Altai. The mountain range is heavily eroded: its slopes are dissected by ravines, and the peaks have dome-like or plateau-like shapes due to prolonged wind and water erosion. [4]
