The 2025 Waterford Senior Hurling Championship is the 125th staging of the Waterford Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Waterford County Board in 1897. The draw for the group stage pairings was made on 27 January 2025.^[1] The championship is scheduled to run from 12 July to September 2025.^[2]

Ballygunner entered the championship as the defending champions.^[3]^[4]

Format change

A motion by the Ferrybank club proposing two groups of six teams was passed prior to the championship draw.^[5] The top two teams in each group qualify for the quarter-finals. The remaining four teams in each group qualify for the preliminary quarter-finals.^[6]
