All statistics correct as of 16 August 2025. |
The 2025–26 Highland Football League (known as the Breedon Highland League for sponsorship reasons) is the 123rd season of the Highland Football League, and the 12th season as part of the fifth tier of the Scottish football pyramid system. Brora Rangers are the reigning champions.
Due to restructuring of the Lowland League from 2026 to 2027 into two 16-team divisions, Brechin City will transfer into the Lowland League East in 2026–27 if they do not achieve promotion by winning the Highland League and the Pyramid Playoff.[1]

Results
Promotion and relegation
The winner of the league will take part in the Pyramid Playoff, playing against the winner of the 2025–26 Lowland League in the semi-finals, the winner of which will face the team who finish 10th in 2025–26 League Two for a place in the 2026–27 League Two.
Unless Elgin City are relegated via the Pyramid Playoff, no team will be relegated into the Highland League.
Due to the reconstruction of the Lowland League in 2025–26, Brechin City will leave the Highland League in the 2026–27 season either by being promoted via the Pyramid Playoff to League Two or transferring to the new Lowland League East.
As with previous seasons, subject to the tier 6 champion clubs meeting the required licensing criteria for promotion,[5][6] a play-off is scheduled to take place between the winners of the 2025–26 North Caledonian Football League and the 2025–26 North of Scotland Football League. The Midlands Football League will no longer feed into the Highland League, feeding instead into the new Lowland League East.
The winner of this play-off would then face the bottom team in the Highland League for a place in the 2026–27 league.
As of the start of 2025–26, no teams from the North of Scotland Football League hold a licence, whilst only Golspie Sutherland is licensed in the North Caledonian League.
