The 2013 Iowa State Cyclones football team represented Iowa State University as a member of Big 12 Conference during the 2013 NCAA Division I FBS football season. Led by fifth-year head coach Paul Rhoads, the Cyclones compiled an overall record of 3–9 with a mark of 2–7 in conference play, placing in a three-way tie for seventh the Big 12. The team played home games at Jack Trice Stadium in Ames, Iowa.
The Cyclones played in record setting temperatures: the hottest Jack Trice Stadium game at 92 °F (33 °C) against Northern Iowa on August 31, and the coldest Jack Trice Stadium game at 8 °F (−13 °C) for kickoff and 3 °F (−16 °C) by the start of the second half against Kansas on November 23.[1][2]
On December 1, 2013, offensive coordinator Courtney Messingham and running backs coach Kenith Pope were fired from their positions.[3]
